Munir Rahim (Lab Director)
Dr. Rahim completed his Ph.D. at McGill University (Montreal) and his Post-doctoral Fellowship at the University of Ottawa (Ottawa). He worked as a Research Associated at the University of Ottawa and Dalhousie University (Halifax) before moving to the University of Windsor (Windsor), where he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences.
His research program is focused on innate immune responses against viruses and cancers.
He teaches Immunology undergraduate (BIOM 3540) and graduate (BIOL 8008-23) courses, and is a coordinator for the Undergraduate Honour's Thesis course (BIOM 4904/BIOM 4914) in the Department of Biomedical Sciences.

Mohamad Basem Alkassab (Ph.D. Student)
Mohamad completed his undergraduate degree in Pharmacy at Al-Baath University, Syria. He then completed a Master of Pharmacy degree at Jordan University of Science & Technology, Jordan. Mohamad joined the University of Windsor as an M.Sc. student in 2020 and transfered to the Ph.D. program in 2021. His research project explores the role of NKR-P1 receptors in immunity against cytomegalovius.
Karla Alnajm (M.Sc. Student)
Karla completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Windsor. She was awarded NSERC-USRA in Summer 2022, and she started her M.Sc. degree in the Fall 2022. Her research project explores the role of inhibitory NK cell receptors in NK cell homeostasis and function in the mouse mammary tumours.
Fareeha Shaikh (M.Sc. Student)
Fareeha completed her undergraduate degree (B.Sc. Biotechnology) at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of IT and Biotechnology, India. She then completed Advanced Diploma in Bioinformatics from the same institute. Fareeha joined the University of Windsor as an M.Sc. student in 2023. Her research work is focused on the studies of innate lymphoid cell plasticity in cancers.
